Margaret Micklewright

My work is simply a response to weather conditions and the landscape around me.  I prefer to work outside in the landscape I choose to paint,  allowing interference or adaption from weather conditions at that time.  I am influenced by the Cornish coastline, especially around St Just, the Levels, coast and moors near my home in the Quantock Hills.  I use acrylic and handwriting ink and also oil paint, usually with a wet surface to start and often throughout the making of the piece.

I graduated from Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen (BA Hons Fine Art) and have since painted on a part-time basis, but exhibit regularly in Somerset.
